Optimum Group presents inspiring knowledge sessions at Empack 2025

Optimum Group, a leading player in the label and packaging industry, will host two knowledge sessions on April 3, 2025, during Empack 2025 in the Brabanthallen, Den Bosch. These sessions will provide industry experts’ insights into the future of packaging, recycling, and the impact of the Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).

Session 1: The drivers of circularity and the OK list

New regulations, waste reduction, and the Green Deal: the industry is being pushed towards action from all sides. But what does the bigger picture look like? What are the key factors that determine success or failure? This session will cover the three core aspects of sustainable packaging: ability, permission, and willingness.

Additionally, we will present an overview of common packaging solutions and the most optimal packaging form for each application. This overview has been developed in collaboration with Wageningen University & Research (WUR) as part of a major research project.

Session 2: PPWR in practice – transitioning to better recyclability with MONO-material

Flexible packaging plays a crucial role in circularity and sustainable packaging design. But how can the PPWR guidelines be translated into practical packaging solutions? In this session, Rob Daniels and Vincent de Vries will showcase how mono-material and PPWR-proof pouches contribute to packaging reduction and improved recyclability.

The session will also highlight the development of the Pouch Factory in Enschede, where innovative and circular packaging solutions are being produced. Learn how we are shaping the future of recyclable flexible packaging!
